i just went to my first ever PRIDE event in San Francisco!!! and let me just say it was AMAZING. i have never felt so free and accepted. i didnt have to worry about offending anyone or being professional.
i witnessed the dykes on bikes and swear that one of these days i am going to ride with one of them.
i also didnt pay for anything this trip! i was offered drinks left and right, people payed for me to get into clubs, and people were so modest and welcoming.
at least most of them were. as with any group gathering of a minority group, there were people who protested it; and some gay men were shot outside a club i had left only hours earlier.
and i have a new view about taxi drivers. none of the cab services would pick me up from where i was, which being semi foreign i didnt know where i was.
but i loved my experience there and love the new friends i made and hope to see them again.
im just hoping this bite mark on my neck disappears before work on tuesday…
